The transition to a sustainable society rest upon the transition of our energy system towards sustainable energy. At Mind Energy, we play important role in the energy market across three major functions.

1. Balance responsibility

As a trade balance responsible we take part in directing energy volumes to the market that need it the most, ensuring an efficient use of the available resources. This facilitates lower average system prices for energy, reduces price volatility, indirectly reducing the carbon intensity of the grids.

2. Route to market

We provide a route-to-market for owner of energy producing assets, helping them feed in their production volumes to the energy grids as efficiently as possible, managing the daily auctions and administration that ensures a stable and reliable grid, and helps producers pair up with consumers to off-take their volumes directly.

3. Energy sourcing

We service large consumers of energy and big energy resellers in accessing the energy markets, sourcing their desired type of energy when they need it at the optimal price available in the market.

At Mind Energy, sustainability is about making the energy system work efficiently, reliably, and fairly - for customers and for society. Even without owning energy‑producing assets or infrastructure, we contribute meaningfully across the energy value chain. Through our role as balance responsible party, market facilitator, and trusted partner to producers and large consumers, we help ensure that energy is directed to where it is needed, when it is needed - supporting lower volatility, better utilisation of resources, and reduced carbon intensity.

How we work with sustainability

We have embedded sustainability into the development of our Switch28 corporate strategy. This ensures that our sustainability focus and goals are fully aligned with our overall business objectives. This approach anchors our ESG work across the entire business, supported by top management and the Board of Directors.

In preparation for the upcoming CSRD reporting, we conducted a comprehensive Double Materiality Assessment. This process provided us with a profound, quantifiable understanding of our business's impact across the value chain. It has informed our strategy development, enabled effective goal setting, and prepared us for sustainability reporting.

Alongside our external efforts, we remain committed to continuous improvement in our own operations. We strive to minimize our environmental footprint while prioritizing the development and well-being of our employees and partners across the value chain.

Sustainability is at the core of product development in 2025 and beyond. Companies are increasingly seeking energy that is not only renewable but verifiably sustainable. The increasing complexity of the energy market makes it challenging for companies to achieve their sustainability ambitions alone.
